About Us

Seriously Japan is a collector-run store bringing authentic, Japan-exclusive toys and collectibles to Australia — carefully chosen so you can buy with confidence.

We source directly from Japan, focusing on items that are hard to find or not typically available in Australia. From research and sourcing to authenticity checks and logistics, we handle the complicated parts so buying feels simple, safe, and transparent.
We believe toys and collectibles should be more than just products. They can carry nostalgia, craftsmanship, and cultural value — whether they’re added to a serious collection or become a child’s first meaningful toy.
Japan’s toy and collectible culture is deeper and more intentional than what most Australian customers encounter. That difference shows in the quality, rarity, and care behind each item — and in the stories that make them worth owning.
Seriously Japan exists to bring that experience here, thoughtfully and responsibly. Every item is sourced with care, clearly explained, and handled with the attention to detail and respect that Japanese retail is known for.
Buying from Seriously Japan means peace of mind — confidence in what you’re buying, access to something different, and no need to second-guess your choice.

Mission
Our mission is to make authentic, Japan-exclusive toys and collectibles accessible to Australians — without the hassle, risk, or uncertainty of importing.

By sourcing directly from Japan and carefully choosing what we sell, we do the hard part so customers can buy with confidence, access something different, and never feel the need to second-guess their choice.
Founder's Story
I grew up influenced by Japanese anime, games, and design long before I ever set foot in Japan.
Years later, living and working there — studying the language, supporting Toyota, and spending time in local stores far beyond tourist areas — I discovered something deeper: a culture where even toys are made with intention, quality, and care.
I kept thinking,
“I wish I could have been a kid in Japan.”
Seriously Japan began from that realisation.
Not as a trend, but as a way to share access — shaped by lived experience, respect for craftsmanship, and a belief that what we grow up with matters.
